An MB339A aircraft, a true icon of the Galatina Flight School, on static display in the center of a roundabout. It is the "Monument to the aviator" which stands on the roundabout which, from the Lecce-Galatina provincial road, allows access to the avenue that leads to the "Fortunato Cesari" air base. The MB339A aircraft is an aircraft which for over 40 years has symbolized not only the Galatina flight school, but the Air Force itself: in fact the "339", or "Macchino" as it has been affectionately renamed by experts, is used both by the 61st Wing for the training of military pilots, and by the famous national aerobatic team Frecce Tricolori in the classic blue livery.
