This series is technically interesting, being the first to be printed in two colors using intaglio printing. This type of printing was made possible by the use of a new Lambert press. The result is excellent, and the Verdi series is among the most beautiful of the period, but it was an isolated case, as, due to the higher production costs, few other stamps were printed using this method. On the contrary, the Vatican City evaluated the possibilities of this printing method differently, issuing numerous polychrome intaglio stamps.
This is a Jolly SES (Value 120 points)
