Lecce is preparing to experience a historic day with the arrival of the fourth stage of the Giro d'Italia. The city in Salento, famous for its baroque charm, will transform into a stage of speed and emotion, offering a breathtaking spectacle to fans and cycling enthusiasts. After starting from Alberobello, on May 13 the cyclists will pass through Guagnano and Campi Salentina before joining the state road 7 Ter, a stretch that will take them in a compact group towards the capital.

But it will be at Porta Napoli that the race will come to life: here, the sprinters will start to push hard to conquer strategic positions. The entrance into the city will take place from via Taranto, passing through Borgo Pace. Afterwards, the group will proceed in the opposite direction along the road that from the roundabout with Viale della Repubblica leads to the Obelisco. From here, an 11.9 km city circuit will begin, to be covered twice, a spectacular route that will highlight the beauty of Lecce. The route includes the passage along Viale dell'Università, Viale Gallipoli, Viale Otranto and Via Don Minzoni, where the cyclists will pass through the fascinating historical arches. After this suggestive setting, the race will move on to the ring road, up to the roundabout with Viale Giovanni Paolo II, also including the underpass. One of the most iconic moments will be the passage in front of the Via del Mare stadium, where the sprinters will begin to launch the offensive to detach the less explosive opponents. The group will then return to the city along Viale della Libertà, Via del Mare and Via Imperatore Adriano. In front of the Villa Comunale, the cyclists will turn right to take Viale de Pietro, the nerve center of the race. Here, in the second lap, we will probably see a first sprint, which will significantly reduce the number of riders fighting for victory. After passing the roundabout in Piazza del Bastione, the riders will face the straight of Viale Calasso, where speeds of over 50 km/h are expected. Here will be the finish line and the podium of the stage, here the winner will be announced.

During the entrance to Lecce up to the finish line there will be an active mobile station (1LE/GI2). The mobile activation part is scheduled (approximately) from 16:20 to 17:00 Italian time.
